Today, in front of the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases in Slavinovići, a small ceremony was organized on the occasion of commencement of II phase of the project connecting the University Clinical Center facility in Tuzla to the district heating system, that is, commencement of works on the heating system for the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases. With the Mayor of Municipality of Tuzla, Jasmin Imamović and his associates, Director of JZU UKC Tuzla Prof. Elmir Čičkušić,...
Ph. D. in Medical Sciences, was also present with his associates, as well as Raduška Cupać, UNDP Project Manager. On the occasion of commencement of works, Mayor Imamović stated: “This year is the heating year. We will heat a record number of square meters and this will be a record, in our intention to improve the living and work conditions at the Clinical Center to patients, in flats, to citizens, and also improve clearing of the sky above Tuzla. These are the funds of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and UNDP. Three days ago, contractors were brought here, and few days ago we brought in the contractors from the local community Tušanj because of 650 apartments in collective buildings, with creation of conditions for connection of 150 individual houses in the area of Dragadol, where it was invested over one million KM. Deadline for execution of works is 60 days. This is a huge step, particularly for cleaning of the air in the eastern part of town, as well as in areas of Tušanj, Dragadol and Batva. This will be followed by heating of collective buildings in local communities of Šićki Brod, Bukinje, as well as by preparation of project documentation for Kreka. “With this project and within 60 days, the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases and Tuberculosis will get heating. This is a very significant project, through which the heating system will be completely resolved. In addition to connection to the district heating system, we will have a back-up heating option using gas and solar energy. In this way, we will regain the old reputation to this hospital, that is, to the green environment, because of which the hospital was originally located in this part of Tuzla. In this way, UKC Tuzla is trying, first of all in economic terms, to resolve heating in a better way and create heating energy as well as to come closer to international trends in this area,” stated Director of JZU UKC Prof. Elmir Čičkušić, Ph. D. in Medical Sciences. “Today we are beginning with the second phase of the project. The first project, which was successfully completed, was heating of UKC Tuzla in Gradina, whereas this second project, happening thanks to good cooperation with the Municipality of Tuzla, starts today. The value of the project is $ 1,250,000 and the works should be completed until the end of June,” stated Raduška Cupać, UNDP Project Manager.
